A child's preschool teacher can make a lasting impact on that child's future. All our faculty at Discover Montessori Preschool are highly trained and experienced with childhood education. The majority hold college degrees. The Classroom Lead Teacher (Miss Amanda) is Montessori-trained at the preschool age level. All our faculty participates regularly in professional development.
Hello, my name is Miss Amanda. I am the Owner and Operator at Discover Montessori Preschool. I have been working with preschool aged children for the past twelve years. I hold an Early Childhood Certificate and a Montessori Teachers Diploma, a valid First Aid Certificate and attend professional development workshops. Dr. Maria Montessori said, “You must find the work that satisfies your spirit.” This work renews my spirit daily and I am honored to be able to guide the children as they grow. It’s amazing to see the world through the eyes of a young child as he or she excitedly discover the joy of learning. My interests outside of the school are spending time with my family which includes my two children ages 13 & 15. I also enjoy nature walks, going to concerts, and moments of silence with a fresh cup of coffee. I look forward to getting to know you and your child while ensuring their preschool years are memorable!!
Hello, my name is Miss Kristy. I have been working with children of all ages for nearly 30 years. I have worked with children from Infant Toddler all the way up to School-Aged children. I owned and operated a Daycare in my home for eleven years, which allowed me to be home with our four children. I believe that life is about learning and I am very grateful for the gifts I been given in my own personal growth and development working with children. I have taken many Early Childhood Education courses and a variety of workshops which help me to continue to learn, grow, and be the best support and guide that I can be for the children and families I work with. My personal interests include most outdoor activities. Camping is the main activity I love to do with my family. Give me a fire, some nature, surround me with my family and I’m a happy camper! I love listening to music and doing any kind of art activities, this is an outlet for me. Working with amazing staff in such a beautiful calm learning environment, while expanding on and practicing my knowledge and a better understanding of the Montessori methods of education makes me feel joy. I am thrilled to be a part of the team at Discover Montessori Preschool and I look forward to meeting and working with you and your children this school year.
