meet our teachers.
A child's preschool teacher can make a lasting impact on that child's future. All our faculty at Discover Montessori Preschool are highly trained and experienced with childhood education. The majority hold college degrees. The Classroom Lead Teacher (Miss Amanda) is Montessori-trained at the preschool age level. All our faculty participates regularly in professional development.
Hello, my name is Miss Amanda, and I am the owner and operator at Discover Montessori preschool. I have been working with preschool-age children for the past 15 years. I hold a Montessori teacher's diploma, and Early Childhood Education certificate, 1st Aid certificate and have many hours of professional development workshops. Dr. Maria Montessori said, "You must find the work that satisfies your spirit." This work satisfies my spirit daily. I am blessed to be able to guide the children as they grow. It's incredible to see the world through a young child's eyes as they excitedly discover the joy of learning. My interests outside of the preschool are spending time with my family, which includes my two children. I also enjoy nature and moments of silence with a fresh cup of coffee.
I look forward to getting to know you and your child while ensuring their preschool experience is memorable.
Hello, my name is Miss Liliana. I began volunteering to work with young children in churches, music programs, preschools, kindergartens, and elementary schools at a very young age. I graduated with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education and additionally obtained a certificate in Early Childhood Care and Education. I have 15 years of combined professional experience in childcare, afterschool care, preschool, and first and second-grade classrooms. Working with children reminds me of how enjoyable and fun the world can be. My life as a teacher began the day that I recognized I am a perpetual learner. Sometimes, children end up teaching me as much as I do them. Every child encourages me to use my imagination and find new and creative ways to develop each social, emotional, and intellectual life. I enjoy spending time in nature, singing, playing musical instruments, reading, painting, and visiting with friends and family in my spare time. There is so much that I am looking forward to this year at Discover Montessori Preschool.
We will be doing lots of work, but having lots of fun as we continue learning.
Hello, my name is Miss Julie. I specialized in ECE while attending university in BC after moving from the East Coast of Canada. I graduated and obtained my government license to practice within our province in early 2000. I am a member of our local Community Services Childcare and Referral program which allows me to keep current with professional development. I am an advocate of the protection of our planet and love teaching children the importance of being mindful of the environment. Simple everyday practices at an early age promotes a healthy respect for our earth. While living on the West Coast, I met and married my husband, we share two daughters and a dog named Sam. In my free time, I enjoy gardening, spending time with my family, traveling around our beautiful province, and capturing pictures along the way.
I have over two decades of early childhood teaching experience within in our community. For the past four years, I have been a lead teacher at Discover Montessori preschool. My previous experience and personal teaching style provides me a strong connection to the Montessori method. A child’s early years of education is most important and consider myself extremely fortunate to share in the learning process. Our school is a positive, safe, nurturing, inclusive and calm space for young children.
It is with great pleasure that I welcome your family to our preschool.
Hello / Hola. My name is Miss Ole. I have many years of experience working with children. I got my ECEA Certificate in 2013, as well as different workshops during these years. I have my Level 1 ASL, and I am fluent in Spanish. I got my passion for working with children at a very young age from my Mother, who was a sweet lady, always surrounded by children and caring for them.
I am so happy to be part of Discover Montessori. I am discovering so many new and exciting ways of learning. There are so many activities and materials to choose from, and it is regarding how much the children are learning while playing. There is so much that we, as adults, can also learn from the children. I am happy to be part of such a great team at our center. I am the Mother of 2 wonderful sons, and my most significant interest is spending time with them. We enjoy the outdoors, camping, and traveling. I like painting, crocheting, and Soap Making, as well as reading.
Welcome to our Preschool, and we hope your child will enjoy it as much as we do!
